SUMMARY: English translation of Les Anciens Canadiens, the first classic novel of Québec litterature. The story is set in Québec, then still known as Le Canada, around the time of the British Conquest of 1760. Translated by Georgegiana M. Pennée for the 1864 edition, by Charles George Douglas Roberts for the 1890 edition and by Jane Brierley for the 1996 edition. ALTERNATIVE TITLE: Cameron of Lochiel.
